Deliver integrated system to capture requests from the public and other government organisations.  This system is core to the operation of the Privacy department of the Ministry of Justice, with the public and other government organisations dependent on its availability and reliability.

Other Added Value

  • Although budgeted for seven developers, the project was held at five
  • Impact on the business minimised
  • Additional functionality delivered and some functionality deferred, by business decision, to phase II
  • Concurrent with this project, the existing system being replaced was enhanced by my core development team to provide interim functionality
  • Moved to support team without increasing team numbers
  • Managed other projects (up to six others of varying sizes) running concurrently, in addition to managing my core support and development team

  • The project was described as, “almost impossible, but the deadline of 30 June cannot be missed”, at interview.  As at 28 June it is on target to meet the delivery date.

·        Managing the project where the requirements were not known when the project was already in progress

·        Managing diverse teams to bring analysis, design, procurement, build and delivery elements together, much of it in parallel, to deliver a successful solution to time.

 

Other Added Value

·        In spite of the extremely tight timeframes, intense pressure throughout, numerous issues that have arisen and been resolved, plus managing some areas of sensitivity between two of the vendors, the teams so that they are all working together towards the common goal.
