In three years of contracting as a Project Manager, I have been exposed to technologies in:
This page primarily covers my most recent IT technical background, with only a brief reference to earlier and non-IT skills as it is neither practical or relevant to include everything as some of the technologies I used in the past are now redundant (notwithstanding they often provided the skill base on which I have built).
I am competent to varying degrees in all of the following but in the J2EE arena it is much more management competent to discuss technically, than actually being developer or DBA competent.
Java / WebLogic / Oracle (All migrated to latest versions)
Almost all of the systems developed by my teams, when I was at the Ministry of Justice, were in Java / WebLogic, over Oracle database.
A sampling of the tools in Use:
JBuilderX
WorkShop
TOAD
WebLogic Administration Tool Set
VB / Java Script / VB Script / ASP / XML / HTML (All migrated to latest versions)
Some of the earlier systems as well as two of the more recent ones, were developed using the following mix of technologies.
Two of the tools in Use:
MS Developer's Suite
MS FrontPage (Developers prefer to use TextPad)
MS Access
Most of the older and smaller systems my teams supported, along with a number of inherited ones, were written in MS Access 97. As opportunities presented themselves, applications were being replaced or rewritten using Java or .NET.
Other
A number of systems are written in languages that are not available within the Ministry. Some were already out-sourced for support, however, for a time I supported several of them myself. During my time at MoJ, I arranged out-source support for the remainder of them and moved to managing the out-source companies. Languages include Delphi, DataFlex, SuperBase and others.
In addition, the MoJ has relationships with out-source companies for the likes of FTP services (DMZ Global), whom I managed for my systems. I also manage the relationships with other organisations; Police, Ministry of Economic Development, Victoria University, Data Mail and others.

Application Data Migration, Disaster Recovery and Data Redundancy Planning: I have a high level of skill in all areas, built up over years of practical management, involvement, application, delivery and support. This includes considerable familiarity with the tools used in each area.
Telecommunications and Security Systems: Other technical areas where I have skilled up, specifically for projects or as part of a management role, include telecommunications and building security systems.
Applications Development: In the past, I have programmed around two dozen languages at greater or lesser level of skill. Many of these are now obsolete (such as those I used on mainframes in the past) or I have long since stopped using them.
